Blu Love, 48" X 60" , oil paint, wax and sand on canvas
A little about Blu Lov
Many years ago, during a group meditation, I experienced a profound inner presence—an energy radiating deep, timeless love. The moment was humbling and transformative, filling me with immense gratitude and a deep sense of calm and healing. It felt as though I had met a guiding force—an eternal companion—emanating a luminous blue light. In that instant, I understood that this presence was always within me, waiting to be felt whenever I turned inward and remembered.
Over the years, I have forgotten many times, and I have also remembered and re-visited this connection. Sometimes it’s as intense and other times it’s more subtle, but often these visits within bring me back to a place of balance and peace, and on some level a healing takes place.
The painting Blu Lov is inspired by this experience, reflecting that presence within and the enduring love and companionship it offers.
LA PLACE DU MARCHÉ

I’m honoured to be involved in this Art Public Montréal project, that La Maison de La Culture Marie-Uguay and Galerie L’Onyx have been collaboratively developing over the past year. It's called ‘L’abstraction sous toutes ses formes: un voyage à travers les sens’ (or ‘Abstraction in All Its Forms: A Journey Through the Senses’).
Two images of my paintings are now on display at La Place du Marché, located between the Atwater Market and the footbridge that crosses the Lachine Canal.
This project, focused on abstract art, will be on display, until March 2026. If you are in Montreal, I highly recommend viewing it while the autumn colors are still around. The play of light and shadow through the remaining leaves has a certain charm.
GALERIE L'ONYX EXHIBITION
Opening of the exhibition, Words Beyond the Canvas
November 28th, 5-7pm (show run: Nov. 26th to Dec. 10th)
Galerie L'Onyx (6400 Boulevard Monk)
I also want to share a quick heads-up about my solo exhibition coming up in November. I am delighted to invite you to the opening of the exhibition Words Beyond the Canvas at Galerie L’Onyx in about a month's time. This project explores my late father’s writings alongside original paintings inspired by his words, featuring excerpts from his notebooks, letters, and sketches. The exhibition offers a chance to celebrate the lesser-known literary legacy of David Sorensen.
Looking forward to seeing you at the opening on Friday, November 28th!
